Sega vs Nintendo – the battle of your childhood is coming to the screen

If you grew up in the 80’s and 90’s (and are reading this website), there’s a damn good chance that you were the proud owner of either a Sega or Nintendo console during your formative years. By nature of having either the Nintendo Entertainment System or later the superior SNES, or Sega’s Master System or Megadrive (1 & 2 on both formats), you were automatically on one side or the other in the first great console war of our time – long before fanboys of Microsoft and Sony were pulling each others hair and calling bad names.

Blake J Harris’ book Console Wars (due for release this May) aims to cover the saga in some considerable detail, and the rights have been snapped up by Sony with a view to a feature film production. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg – who we recently discussed regarding the adaptation of the comic Preacher, here – are to produce a screenplay, having penned the foreward for the book.
